This is a homework project booklet for unit 1.1.e - The Effects of Exercise on the Body Systems for the new OCR GCSE (9-1) PE Specification (2016). Check out my other resources where you will find full, highly rated units of work for the new OCR specification. This homework task follows the structure of all our homework tasks as our students benefit from routine and structure. Based on their target grade students complete four differentiated questions. Students have a choice of nine questions which are banded into difficulty. The bands that they answer the questions from are determined by their target grade but students can choose to push them selves and are still offered choice with three questions in each band. For example a student with a target grade of 6 would be expected to answer 1 question from band D (hardest), 2 from band C (middle) and 1 from band B (easiest). The questions require them to practice various skills such as explaining (band B), applying to sport (band C) and evaluating (band D). For each unit each part of the specification is covered within a question. The way this homework works is fully explained on the booklet.

This is a full unit of work for the new OCR GCSE (9-1) PE Specification (2016). Please check out my other resources for more OCR Units just like this one. You can now purchase the full specification bundle from my TES shop. This will be all you need to deliver unit 2.1.a - Engagement Patterns of Different Social Groups in Physical Activity and Sport, including: A 115 slide powerpoint covering all aspects of the specification for the unit. This powerpoint contains learning outcomes, all the necessary information for notes, interactive tasks, lots of embedded video clips, partner discussion activities, mini quiz, 6 mark question tips and the answers to the tasks featured in the workbook. The powerpoint and workbook correspond so there is nothing you need to do other than print the documents. A 19 page all-in-one workbook created to be completed alongside the powerpoint. This features learning outcomes to self assess against, space to take notes, fun tasks, assessment opportunities and opportunities to apply knowledge to sporting examples. A topic test to be completed at the end of the unit. This contains the questions released by OCR as well as some that have been created for the unit to test each part of the specification. It also includes a 6 mark question. The test is out of 25 marks and the answers feature on the powerpoint to go through with students. 3 six mark question sheets featuring a six mark question. These feature varying scaffolds and will allow you to give more support to some students and hopefully allow them to access the higher marks whilst all completing the same task. The task is explained on the powerpoint with tips and a model paragraph. A paired revision activity where students compete against another to describe sporting examples of the positives and barriers that affect participation. The task is fully explained on the sheet and in the powerpoint. A keywords sheet to be completed at the beginning and then the end of the unit. This is a handy revision tool for students as they can keep the keywords together. It also allows them to see what they have learnt throughout the unit. Bingo grids for the bingo activity on the powerpoint. This unit has been created in line with the specification and covers each section. I have not made this resource just to sell it, I take pride in making sure my resources are great and I will be delivering these units myself this year. This is a 53 page revision guide for Paper 2 – Socio-cultural issues and sports psychology (02) of the OCR GCSE (9-1) PE Specification (first examination in 2018). As a PE teacher who was unsatisfied with the revision guides available on the market I decided to create this for our students. As a department, we believe that this revision guide is as good, if not better than the ones available from publishers. However, with this one you will only need to purchase the file once then print as many as you need for years to come meaning this could offer you excellent value. The guide has been created in line with the specification to feature <b>everything</b> that students need to know for Paper 2. The information is clear, detailed and displayed in an appealing, easily accessible style for students with supporting images and diagrams. Please see the bottom of this text if you wish to see what is covered. As well as the information necessary, within the workbook for every aspect of the specification students must apply the knowledge to create a sporting example, practicing assessment objective 2 (AO2). They must do so using one of the nine sports people featured in the booklet. By applying their knowledge to sport students can develop greater understanding as opposed to that gained from just reading through their notes. If you have purchased our resources before you will be familiar with our set up. In addition to the vast amount of sporting example questions, at the end of each unit there are some exam style questions testing recall, explanation and relative importance skills. Also included is a mark scheme for these questions, allowing you to go through these in lessons. You could use these booklets in lessons in the lead up to the exam as they will take students hours to complete, or they could be provided to work on at home. Here is a selection of 14 display posters that look at numeracy in PE. Each poster covers a different area of maths through sporting questions/scenarios. These have been created very recently and feature up to date information (Euro 2016 etc.) Together they make an eye catching display and have been very popular with our students. Our maths department also have a copy for display as students have engaged with them. The answers are attached from when students tell you their guesses.
